Soft Tissue Work Helps You Stay Active

Whether you’re a runner or CrossFitter, golfer or walker, being active is a part of a healthy lifestyle. When aches and pains set in, however, you can find yourself sidelined from your favorite sport or activity.

Causes of Soft Tissue Injury

Though sports activity can cause soft tissue injury, repetitive microtraumas can as well. These include sitting at a disk all day and not getting up periodically. You may find that it’s difficult to stand because your quads and knees are extremely tight.

Working at a desk can also create stiff, tight muscles that come from activities such as using a mouse which can overwork the shoulder. So it’s hard to get the flexibility to move your arm backward because you’ve kept it in a forward position all day long.

Our Treatment

At Body Basics Chiropractic, we treat the body’s soft tissues to balance your muscles. We combine stretching, Active Release Techniques®, Graston Technique and more to release scar tissue, balance joints and stabilize the tissues. By breaking down scar tissue between the muscle groups and the fascial plane the muscles can be loose and flexible.

You can usually expect to feel some relief in the first three visits, and we tend to recommend 4-12 sessions in total. We find that it takes an average of six treatments to feel better and have a good recovery. You’ll even be given exercises you can do at home to maintain your progress for a few weeks following treatment.
